PreCal: Setting up functions from descriptions

Intro: A mathematical expression may include letters representing constants and others representing variables. When we take an explanation of how these constants and variables are related and write an expression giving a functional relationship between between two of the variables, we are setting up a function.

Table of Contents:

  1. Putting together explanations and graphs
    1. deciding what the letters stand for
    2. examples
    3. coefficients
    4. the phrases "as a function of" and "in terms of"
    5. examples
    6. setting up the axes for graphs
